Kelleher Trip to Egypt and Jordan May 2024

March 19, 2025: Snow Day!

Did not expect this:

Outside our hotel

The burghers outside a museum

Baseball Update: We were hoping for a better outcome, but game 2 of the Tokyo Series delivered another L for the Cubbies. We did see a monster home run from the Japanese living legend, Shotei Ohtani. And the Dodger’s pitching sensation, Sasaki, delivered 98-100 MPH pitches one after another. He could have secured his 1st major league win, but he was taken out after 4, probably because he walked a bunch giving the Cubbies ample opportunity to score. I think he struck out 2 to end the 4th with the bases loaded. Hopefully he does not throw his arm out because he will be great.

Opening ceremony was well done with traditional Japanese music and dancing. But they do not know how to perform the 7th inning stretch. Nobody stands, well…except for 2 Cubs fans in green Cubs’ hats.

Another thing about the Tokyo Dome baseball experience. Beer is served by Keg Girls in the aisles carrying kegs on their backs. Apparently they develop followings of regulars who sit in their sections. see below.

This series was all about the Dodgers and Ohtani. While there were Cub fans, I would estimate 99% of the 55,000 capacity crowd as Dodger Blue.

Moving on to Tokyo Disney this morning under crisp, blue Tokyo skies-

Beautiful morning from hotel restaurant
Beer anyone?
