We have now had one full day in Munich and managed a JK-guided walking tour of the Old City, including timely arrival at the glockenspiel in Marienplatz. On arrival Monday evening, we headed for the Hofbrau Haus where we enjoyed German pretzels, roast chicken, pork knuckle, and sausages. And don’t forget, beer!!

Yesterday after the walking tour, I took a nap (well deserved if you ask me). I knew there was more to come as we were headed out to Octoberfest! We managed seats in three tents- Hofbrau, Augustiner and Lowenbrau. We got there early – 5ish and by 8 PM, it was rocking. Check this off the list- glad I went, but feel no reason to return for a second night. Will leave more big beers for the Kelleher boys.

Today, our in-house guide will take us to the Residences and then go see surfers in the River Eisbech. Hmm…

One thing for sure- after this trip, a serious period of drying out and dieting will need to occur! Lots of good and drink has been enjoyed.
