Arrived Rome

Here are some things.

The Istanbul Airport is like a shopping mall. Pictures below. But I didn’t buy anything. On a schedule, you know.

Let’s not spread this too widely, but I have now showered in airport lounges in Amsterdam, Amman, Paris and Istanbul. This one was the nicest.

The Rome airport is not like a shopping mall. Lots of trudging (inside joke for the Kelleher girls) with your carry-ons which you now wish you did not have. Crowded and overall, grungy. Then there was an hour’s wait for checked bags and another trudge to the Airport Hilton.

Since there can be no rest for the weary, we dropped our stuff and headed to Vatican City (by train) because someone pre-ordered holy water blessed by the Pope that had to be picked up today. Water blessed by ordinary priests may be purchased without pre-order, in case you worry.

But all is well, I’m on my 2nd latte and beginning to perk up. (It’s 4pm)

Tonight more Kelleher’s will arrive and tomorrow we meet the tour group which we think will be predominately NY area cops. Promises to be …interesting.
