Long day.

Arrived at Hayat Zaman Hotel in the evening on May 25. Tourism is very negatively impacted by the “troubles” in Israel-Gaza so we think there is only one other room occupied here.

This is a local hotel, very unique and not part of the US Hyatt chain!

Travel has gone very smoothly thanks to our airport facilitators! But even Ahmed could not help us avoid chaos at security for the flight to Amman from Cairo. We encountered a large group of Chinese travelers at the checkpoint. Baggage was being piled high on the conveyor and passports were being checked as you stepped through the security point. The bags were all sent back through the same point so people and bags were hopelessly clogged. Eventually this knot was untangled and we could proceed…
